Strawberries and frozen yogurt

I have never been very fond of strawberries before. My husband’s a foodie and has a great taste for good food, he’s the one who keeps introducing me to amazing cuisines and persuades me to taste different drinks (as in fruit shakes). He recently got fond of a drink called ‘Matcha Latte’, which he tasted at a juice centre named ‘Booster Juice’, and he even bought the ingredients for trying out at home. We tried it at home and loved it. One of the ingredients was the vanilla flavor frozen yogurt, which looked to be the highlight of the delicious drink. That’s how we came up with the idea of blending a bit of it with other shakes.

One fine day, I opened the fridge and saw that the strawberries we bought few days back were soon to rot if not consumed. It was just my husband who ate it occasionally, my son is more on me in terms of being a picky/moody eater. So, the fruit was still leftover in the refrigerator. We then decided to finish it off by making some strawberry milkshake. I love milkshakes, and so I agreed and blended the strawberries with milk and some vanilla flavor frozen yogurt.

The resulting strawberry shake, was an amazing treat to our taste buds. That moment, it occurred to me, “Why did I keep running away from strawberries all these years!?”

Honestly, this has happened to me many a times with other food items too, specially after marriage. I’m a different version of myself in terms of food habits. I’m glad I have improved for good, although getting side-tracked once a while, but still continuing to improve.

All that I would say is “If you dislike a food, keep trying out different recipes with the main ingredient, sooner or later you will find a way to start liking it and include it in your diet!”
