Optimistic Mind

As we started off from our home to visit Vaishno Devi temple located in Jammu & Kashmir, India, I need to mention that we had an obscure start to our trip!

To begin with, the first thing we needed to do was catch an overnight train to Katra. We usually leave from home on time, and so we did the same. But, to our surprise, there was a terrific traffic jam that night when we left, and we were stuck in our cab. My husband was aware of some shortcuts and alternate routes, so he directed the person driving the cab to try different routes. But to our dismay, those routes were blocked too. (I’ve not mentioned details about the road blocks because, frankly, I don’t remember the reason! This had happened sometime back in 2015)

What happened next?

(I’m someone who doesn’t usually get tensed or loses hope in difficult times, instead, I just pray and keep faith that things will eventually get resolved!)

And, that’s what I exactly did sitting in the cab until we reached the station. All the time while our cab kept moving slowly, we were looking at the traffic and feeling helpless. I did acknowledge the concerns expressed by my hubby, but I didn’t utter a single word. I only sat praying and keeping hope that we would certainly reach.

Outcome? We reached station in the nick of time, and we ran all the way to find and board the train as there was just 5 minutes left for the departure.

Conclusion: I believe that it’s very important to be optimistic and hope for the best in all circumstances. And in case any negativity or doubt enter your mind, snap it off by thinking positive.

Although easier said than done, the effort is worthwhile, and you end up feeling better.
